Red Hood is a complex character in the DC Universe, primarily associated with the Batman mythos. The character's roots trace back to the original Red Hood, a criminal who eventually became the Joker.
The more commonly known Red Hood is Jason Todd, the second Robin. He first appeared as Red Hood in *Batman* #635 (2005). Jason was brutally murdered by the Joker in the famous "Death in the Family" storyline.
Later, he was resurrected and, fueled by anger and a sense of betrayal, took on the Red Hood mantle. As Red Hood, Jason employs lethal methods and operates outside the bounds of Batman's code of ethics, creating a constant conflict between the two.
His methods often put him at odds with not only Batman but also other members of the Bat-Family. Red Hood is known for his violent tactics and willingness to use firearms.
